There are three current exhibits at Bermuda National Gallery on the 2nd Floor in City Hall.
Staging Mary Prince: In Her Own Words...by international artist Joscelyn Gardner has been extended and reopened on Monday, December 5th. In 2012, Mary Prince was announced as the face of the anti-slavery movement and was named a national hero in Bermuda. Visit the Bermuda National Gallery and experience a multi-media artwork reinterpreting the story of Mary Prince by international artist Joscelyn Gardner. This exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Community, Culture and Sports and will run until Thursday, December 15th.
BNG also invite you to join them as they celebrate youth creativity in the annual Student Art Exhibition. This year's theme is Memories of the Present, which was inspired by the Bermuda Biennial exhibition on the same theme. Students were asked to illustrate images of objects and/ or people that they considered important in their lives today. Students were asked to consider: Why are these objects and/or people important to them? For more information on this exhibit, contact Ms. Dany Pen at education@bng.bm or 295-9428. This exhibit is sponsored by BELCO and will run until Saturday, December 31st.
Finally, you can explore the development of the visual arts in Bermuda in the ongoing exhibition, The Bermuda Collection.
Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays, closed on public holidays.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for BNG members, NARM members, seniors and students.
For more information, contact 295-9428 or visit www.bng.bm.
